Welcome

Approximately 70,000 years ago, a small fragile group of humans in Africa embarked on a fantastic voyage. They left their mother continent and began a migration to every corner of the planet. As far as we know, they had no map, no compass, and no plan - just perhaps, a deep inner conviction that their journey was possible. They were the first Scatterlings of Africa – our great grand ancestors.

Like these early human ancestors, all of us ultimately have to rely on that inner sense of journey to give our lives meaning and purpose even if in truth we don’t have a plan or a map or a compass. Most of my life has unfolded around trying to construct an African identity for myself through Zulu music and dance although I never knew exactly where it would take me. Some thirty years later I have accumulated much information and many experiences which friends ,fans and other interested parties have encouraged me to share.

For some time now I have wanted to launch a website where I can consolidate this information and make it available to anyone interested in things that helped me to understand another culture and ultimately my place in the great scatterlings story. These are early days and hopefully you the visitor can help shape and carry this site and its agenda in new directions with your contribution and comments on the forum.
